Buy Ceremonial Cacao

The sacred plant medicine Cacao has been part of the traditions of Central & South America for thousands of years as one of the most important plants in their cosmovisions, ceremonies, diets & trade.

Below find several of my favorite cacao sources that are in alignment with my values of regenerative, sustainable cacao farming & production that supports the lives & lineages of Indigenous farmers, business owners as well as their communities & families.

P.S. There is so much to be said about this beautiful medicine! You can read some of my inspired thoughts about cacao & my journey with her here.

Your Choice Makes a Difference

The global chocolate industry is fraught with colonial exploitation, child labor & other problematic systems.

Purchasing ceremonial-grade cacao is using your sovereign choice to support ethical & sustainable cacao farming & production, co-creating a powerful, healing shift in the world.

Thank you for choosing conscious interaction with plant medicine & wisdom.

MAYAN CACAO

ruk5.jpg

Small batch, roasted traditionally over a fire & hand-peeled

Ruk’u’x ulew

[Pronounced: Roo-Koosh-Ouh-Leh-Ou]

This translates to “Heart of the Earth” in the local Kechiquel Mayan dialect of San Marcos la Laguna (Lake Atitlán, Guatemala) where this collective of Indigenous women are stewarding a small ceremonial cacao business, founded by Cecilia (seen on the right of the photo).

It is an honor to know them and to witness the transformation taking place through this enterprise.

Profile: Earthy and robust, roasted delightfully; infused with family & laughter // Guatemalan cacao tends to be lower in caffeine content and higher in theobromine

Your Ruk U’x’ Ulew purchase comes with an informational PDF in addition to an optional FREE 20-minute consultation to answer questions around preparation & usage.

These pounds are personally shipped by me from California via USPS flat rate.

GLOBAL

from ora cacao

I am so excited to be part of Ora Cacao’s Reciprocity program. Sourced from different communities all over the world, this cacao is ethically-sourced and the owner of this company has real, meaningful connections with the farmers.

It is also some of the most delightful-tasting, smoothest ceremonial cacao you will find out there.

(Oh, and this brand is based within just 20 miles of my house!)

The tempered cacao wafers make this one of the absolute easiest to work with, and you won’t be disappointed when you taste its super silky deliciousness. Also perfect for making artisanal chocolate.

All new ora customers can get 10% off with my code: DIANA108

SHARING THE LOVE

As part of my commitment to sharing the bounty that I receive & helping spread the generosity that I feel is part of cacao’s mission on earth, each pound of Ruk U’x’ Ulew cacao shares profits with Integral Heart Family, a non-profit in Guatemala that supports the education and nutritional wellbeing of at-risk youth.

Teaching meditation and emotional literacy, among other empowering tools, IHF provides a sense of community and love as well as meal programs for these kids that would otherwise be on the streets. They rely on generous donations to keep the doors open.

If you feel called to donate even more, additional donations would be SO appreciated! Thank you for your support!

Transparency Notes: I receive affiliate commission for Cacao Lab & Ora Cacao when you purchase through the links above.
